Burn my soul, something to . . . know . . . before beginning this gleeman's tale.

2021.11.30 17:47 Weiramon Burn my soul, something to . . . know . . . before beginning this gleeman's tale.

Burn me, if one is considering settling down with this epic literary saga, know one thing.
What you think you know is not what you know.
So truly know this. The Creator is winking at you. He allowed his creations to tell the tale, and their narration is . . . unreliable. What they think they know, is not what is so. They may be correct, but as often as not they are somewhat mistaken – or wholly mistaken. This cannot be said enough - what you know is not what you think you know.
So how will the audience come to know?
Certainly not by galloping along, thinking that by devouring the tomes - and the trails of breadcrumbs carefully laid throughout - at breakneck pace, believing that memories of past chapters will remain fresh enough to tie the trail of breadcrumbs together.
There is a reason this opus of a gleeman’s tale has spawned SPOILERS ALL PRINT IN LINKS:[Book] mania, mountains, lands of theories, a cooper’s timeline, cyclopedic knowledge, a library to rival that of Tar Valon, maps, a treasure trove of the Creator, even more from the Creator, and now a show to go along with the tale.
A reason? Make that many reasons. The Creator took his experience of brutal war in the bush, of military training, of learning of the fabric of matter itself, and poured his own soul into this opus of a gleeman’s tale. Each sentence was crafted with great care, and throughout is laced with hidden clues, double meanings, foreshadowing, parallels, juxtaposition. Bread crumbs are placed with exquisite care, outlining paths that begin in tEoTW Prologue and go on to their ultimate destinations throughout the tomes to the end.
Neigh, gallop not. Go at a slow trot. Pause. Look back. Sidle back. Re-visit the previous tomes throughout. There are countless thousands hidden gems, most of which only begin to glitter when looking back on the path that has been trodden. Sure, there is a cost in the time spent, but the investment will more than pay off. There may be a point where the rule of ever smaller rewards comes into play, but few if any have reached that point, even after dozens of re-reads. To the contrary, and as unbelievable as it sounds, the rewards grow with a re-read.
Knowing this, treading slowly and deliberately, re-visiting and looking back, then the bread crumbs will begin to appear, the gems will glitter brightly. The Creator went to great pains to make it so.
What you think you know, is not what you know. But in the end, you will know.

2021.11.30 17:47 model-putrid [National - 1st - Post 2] model-putrid owns virgin nuclearcels in a Morwell speech

"There were a lot of reasons that I left the SDP back in the day, but if there was a main thing that triggered it, it was their support for nuclear energy. I strongly believed then, and still do now, that nuclear energy is a dangerous folly that we shouldn't pursue, and I am proud of my campaign to stop it.
But there are some people who disagree. From what I gather, they seem to think that if the snowflakes just stopped being so sensitive about nuclear energy, we could ditch this nation's dependence on fossil fuels. This nation could be powered by clean, green nuclear energy! Granted, the green here glows a bit more than you might expect, but what's the problem with that?
In case you can't tell, I don't buy it. Some of you might have also heard the buzz around "thorium reactors", which really is no different to the coal lobby's push for "clean coal". It's a marketing term. Thorium might be more efficient than uranium, but it's still a nuclear reactor. And as "better" as thorium might be, it is still commercially unproven. It has not been tried and tested. Ditching the push for renewables to focus on thorium would be a bit like investing millions on potato power. Sure, can potatoes generate power? Yes. Would powering this nation on potatoes alone ever be viable, let alone affordable or feasible? Hell no!
And in some ways, it's worse. I think I'd sooner support a plan to power Australia off potatoes than I would off thorium or uranium, because at least potatoes aren't radioactive! A lot of people like to act like nuclear is perfectly safe so long as it's managed correctly. Chernobyl? Clearly the result of communist mismanagement. Fukushima? Well, you can't trust those Japanese. Three Mile Island? Well, it was only operated by an American Fortune 100 company - clearly, they were scraping the bottom of the barrel.
The problem is, failures are human nature. Even the most altruistic and perfectly-run companies will get something wrong. When renewables go wrong, you might be without power for a bit. When nuclear goes wrong, people die. And will these nuclear plants be run by people who have the public interest in mind and who are operating purely to do no harm? Of course not! They'll be operated by multinational companies who care about nothing but profit. Companies like Engie.
And I'm sure you now know where this is going. If there is any homegrown example of why nuclear energy won't work, it's right here in the Valley. I don't need to explain this too much, as I'm sure everyone knows this tragedy all too well, but the Hazelwood mine fire blanketed Morwell and the Valley with toxic smoke and ash. At least 11 people died as a result of the fire. It was found by a court that the Hazelwood Power Corporation put workers and public at risk with their reckless disregard for health and safety.
Even though the damage of the fire was estimated to be over $100 million, they got away with a slap on the wrist - just under $2 million. This is a company that made over $95 billion in profits in 2019. They wipe their bums with million dollar bills. They essentially got away with inflicting massive damage on the Valley through their gross negligence.
If there is to be a nuclear power accident in Australia - and I pray to God we never come close to a situation like this - then the results could not only potentially be much worse due to the fact that uranium is just a little bit more toxic than coal, but the companies running it will get away with it.
With all that considered, do you really think it is worth investing in nuclear? Is it worth subsiding a giant pipe dream that will only end up lining the pockets of some French bastard? Is it worth the risk of mismanagement that could kill people? Is it worth the risk of nuclear waste? It is not feasible, it is not affordable, it is not practical, and I promise that, as a Senator, any nuclear power bill that comes in front of me will be dead on the spot!"

2021.11.30 17:47 Greenrobotto UV Mapping/Unwrapping in Unreal

I'm trying to figure out if Unreal is the best software to do UV wrapping of 3D objects. I have 3 motorcycle helmets that I need to wrap with very specific GFX's/Decals? and they need to match up perfectly. Since I'm working in Unreal I'm hoping I can just do everything here, but I see there is other software dedicated to this like Headus UV layout, and just wondering if it's the same processor easier. What is the most user-friendly software for UV mapping I guess is the question. Especially when it comes to round shapes like a helmet.

2021.11.30 17:47 Ineedadviceforsadgf1 Girlfriend is so down on herself and I don’t know how to help her

We’ve dating for a little over 3 years. Girlfriend is normally very energetic and extroverted. She’s always had self-esteem issues but I think she’s a very capable woman with lots of potential. I tell her that all the time
Past year she seems to be getting more and more depressed. I know why she’s so down- she’s miserable at her job and feels like she lacks any real passion/goals. I don’t think that’s true but that’s what she believes. It’s not abnormal for someone to struggle to find their path and I’m confident she’ll find hers.
I don’t think it helped that her family is filled with successful people who rag on her all the time. She spent Thanksgiving with them and she came back even more unhappy and depressed. I’ve met her family. They all mean well but can be extremely harsh at times. I know they’re trying to help but they say the wrong things to her.
She’s been having a super shitty year too and all the little bad things that happen, in my opinion, she takes it alot more personally than is healthy. She states that she’s a failure and “not meant to be happy” as if it’s fact. I always tell her that she’s wrong and point out everything that’s objectively amazing about her. She’ll always smile and thank me but I know she doesn’t take anything I say seriously
I’ve been worried for her since she looks exhausted all the time despite her claims that she sleeps all the time. She’s losing weight and is too lazy to want to do anything. I try to be supportive i.e. take her out to her favorite spots, spend time with her, etc. nothing seems to be working. It hurts alot to see her like this. She’s so different from how she was last year. I don’t know how to cheer her up or convince her that she’s a great woman.

2021.11.30 17:47 ShoppingMountain URGENT Should I join office management as a fresher?

Hi I am a final year law student. I recently saw job opening for freshers for 'Management Associate' at a tier 2 law firm. The job profile is essentially of a office manager. I've liked management since high school (studied commerce) and thought about shifting to it eventually. The firm asks for no prior experience in the field and I honestly have none (barely three internships even). The pay is obviously low when compared with that of an associate but I think I might do okay at this job.
Do you think it is a good idea to jump into management as my first job? Will I stray too far away from law ? Should I try and do litigation or some other knowledge/practice based job/internship first and then make the shift?
More importantly are there any future prospects in this field with regards to higher pay or foreign opportunities ( the firm is in India and Ive always wanted to work abroad)?
I don't yet know if I will even get this job but I feel like if I do I might be restricting my growth as a law professional. I could intern/train under an advocate instead and maybe reapply for the post of an associate and earn big and make the shift later. For now I have applied to the recruitment process but I am second guessing my application and need to decide quick if I want to retract the same.

2021.11.30 17:47 Hefty-Leg4131 🍞 FOOD BANK 🍞 Lunched 🚀 Doxxed Dev ✅ Big Marketing in coming 🔥Huge Community 🚨 Don't miss the next 1000x! 🚀

FOODBANK, a fast rising cryptocurrency token which launched 4 weeks ago is about to make its first charity donation to a foodbank. Launched on the Binance Smart Chain, FOODBANK is a crypto token that was born from its creators’ frustration at the growing number of foodbanks popping up in the UK and other developed countries.

In a series of weekly AMA’s “Ask Me Anything” broadcasts on the FOODBANK Telegram group, FOODBANK’s Creator and Chief Executive Officer, Chris Penman explained the thought behind setting up this new charity token. Chris says “FOODBANK was started as a reaction to the growing number of foodbanks currently in existence in what should be rich countries. How can that even be possible?”. Chris goes on to say, “FOODBANK was created to see if perhaps, we, the crypto community could fund local foodbanks and help our own local communities.”

You’ll note the word LOCAL in there. Chris’ dream for FOODBANK is that the funds raised actually go to foodbanks LOCAL to the major holders of the token or indeed to groups of holders with a large joint holding of the token. Chris notes that “There are many tokens where the charity is in some far off land and people you do not know and where any funds raised are spent without the holders seeing the actual benefit of the work the cryptocurrency is doing.” Having invested in such projects in the past he feels that major token holders should be able to see the work the project does and feel the pride in the work their investment is doing. In a world where there is so little hope, Chris wants his investors to see that they can make a difference.

With $20000 already in the token’s charity wallet, FOODBANK are ramping up to make their first “small” charity donation. Fittingly this will be to the foodbank Chris would normally donate to, the one behind the token’s creation. Future donations Chris advises “will need to be local to the major token holders. You can’t tell people you’re going to do something then not do it! We have major holders in Vietnam, Pakistan, India, The US and the next donation could go to any of those locations, we’ll just have to wait and see”. Chris goes on to explain that “Another consideration is how we take money out of the token in order to actually give to charity, without crashing the token. I need to remember that while for me this is a charity token, for the token holders, this is an investment. I’ve invested in numerous tokens myself over the years where the Dev has taken huge chunks of money out the token to buy Teslas, sponsor nascar teams and run huge advertising campaigns all to the detriment of the token holder’s investment, that can’t happen here”.

So, who is Chris Penman? Well, he’s a quiet, shy individual who has written an amazon bestseller and who runs two Engineering Consultancies. While drinking a no frills americano, dressed in blue jeans and a company T-shirt, Chris admits that being CEO of a cryptocurrency has made him far more visible than he is comfortable being. Chris notes that he “didn’t appreciate how visible (he) would be to the token holders, I’m on Telegram to some extent almost constantly and during the AMA’s literally anyone from anywhere in the world can ask me anything. It takes some getting used to. I’m used to sitting in an office designing showrooms for Lamborghini or McLaren or overseeing someone’s house design. My normal business is fairly anonymous, FOODBANK has made me far more visible”. A husband and father of a one year old girl, whose name is at the start of the tokens code – go take a look, Chris is a man who is used to hard work and more importantly used to delivering on his promises.

2021.11.30 17:47 honeyteaspice Serious post: ENFJ x INFJ clash?

I have two people in my life, one an ENFJ, one an INFJ.
When they met for the first time, they both got weird vibes from each other, described to me by both as "chest puffing" and "one-upmanship".
However, they both had been trying to make a good first impression.
Thoughts on this dynamic? I found it to be really intriguing that they both got the same negative impressions, despite wanting the best.
